Feed My Sheep Food Pantry/Mini-Mart

Volunteers make a lot of what we do possible. Whether you have lots of time or just a little, whether you want to utilize current skills, learn new ones, or even earn valuable work experience or college credit, we can assist you in achieving your goals.

This is a great opportunity to meet people, gain experience, and make a huge impact on our community We welcome all kinds of volunteers: retirees, working adults, individual and groups.

Volunteers are retirees, working adults, students (ages 15+) and more. Students may apply volunteer hours towards community service. Groups and court-ordered.

There are a variety of volunteer opportunities at Feed My Sheep Food Pantry/Mini-Mart and Clothes Close.
Positions are:

  • Hands-on assistance during pantry hours
  • Translation of written materials such as pantry policies and procedures,(notably into spanish)
  • Client sign-in and registration, translating for non-English speaking clients
  • Clerical assistance: telephone, written correspondence, etc.
  • Planning and implementing a food drive on behalf of the food pantry
  • Sorting and stocking groceries
  • Sorting clothes
  • Scheduling and receiving clients
  • Shopping with clients
  • Data entry and filing

The ideal volunteer will have

  • Respect for understanding of diversity issues.
  • Sensitivity, respect and knowledge of the special need of the homeless, elderly and underserved.
  • Commitment, compassion, flexibility and the desire to offer their services on a dependable schedule
